Outlier Mat Minute: Trouble Shoot your Leg Locks (Hamstring Exposure)
When our opponent gets their secondary leg to our hamstring it can be very frustrating when attacking leg locks. Here is how we can deal with this issue:
#hamstringexposure + #leglockdefense - When the defender has their free leg to our hamstring, it’s one of their best ways to defend against leg locks.
#crossashiescape + #hamstringexposure - I used to grab their secondary leg with my arms to stop it, but that often let them pull their primary leg free to escape.
#crossashi + #submission + #hamstringexposure - Now, I think a better way is to use your arms to attack the primary leg and your legs to clear the hamstring exposure. When you combine this by forcing rotation, it can lead to you clearing the hamstring exposure.
Instead of fighting the hamstring exposure with your arms, keep attacking the primary leg with your arms. Let your legs and the roll clear the hamstring exposure
As promised, jiu-jitsu insights in under 1 minute!
