Outlier Mat Minute: Side Body Triangle Back Take
The side body triangle from the back is one of my favorite tools when my bottom hook is shallow. Here’s how to use it:
#backescape + #backtothematescape - From the back, the defender may look to throw their body to the overhook side looking to get their back to the mat to escape.
#backmaintenance + #bodytraingle - When the defender is getting their back to the mat, our bottom hook will likely be shallow. This is the perfect time to lock a side body triangle giving us time to upgrade our upper body control to maintain control from the back.
#backtake + #modifiedchairsit + #bodytriangle - We can also use the side body triangle to help us complete back takes when our bottom hook is not as deep as we would like on the entry. I often find when I take the back using a modified chair sit, my bottom hook is shallow making it the perfect time to use the side body triangle to complete the back take.
#exclusivevideo - The side body triangle is something I am using more in my game to help maintain control from the back and enhance my ability to take the back. Here is an exclusive video of me discussing how I am using it.
