Making connection from open guard

Outlier Mat Minute: Making connection from open guard
When playing open guard, it can be difficult to make connections with our opponent. Here is a grip that may help:
#mikeymusumeci - If the passer grabs your leg, reach behind their tricep and pull your head toward their leg to build connection.
#elbowtie to #kuardentry - This grip, often called an "elbow tie," helps you pull yourself toward the passer’s far leg for K-guard entries.
#elbowtie to #falsereap - If they hide their far leg, use the elbow tie to pull into an attack on their near leg with a false reap.
#elbowtie from #seatedopenguard - When seated, if the passer posts on our shoulders instead of grabbing our legs, that’s also a great chance to use the elbow tie to pull ourselves into a connection.
As promised, jiu-jitsu insights in under 1 minute!
P.S. You can explore more by searching any of the hashtags above on the Outlier Database. I started with #connection and #openguard to guide my study.

Love it. Lucas Kanard does this really well if anyone wants more people to study.
